I have a story in the current issue of The Weekly News. Sadly the next issue will be the last one ever. It’s always a shame to lose a market, but as my first ever acceptance letter was sent to me by the fiction editor of The Weekly News, I’m particularly disappointed about this.
Congratulations! But that’s so sad, Patsy. I can understand how you feel. Can you tell us what you consider is the secret to your tremendous success with your short stories since that first one with The Weekly News?!
I suppose it’s just to keep on going, Fay. Don’t let the knickknacks put you off. Keep reading and analysing the markets you hope to write for. Mos t of all keep writing stories which interest you.
Congrats on the story publication. Yes, it’s always sad when a publication goes away…probably not to be replaced by another.
It would be nice to think the closed magazines would be replaced by others, but I agree with your comment that this probably won’t happen.
