I have a short story in the current (Spring) edition of the Australian magazine That’s Life! Fast Fiction. Hopeless Romantic was partly inspired by my lovely husband.
Just like Sydney does with Levia in the story, Gary often has trouble getting my attention when I’m reading (or writing). Like Sydney he sometimes resorts to drastic measures – though thankfully rather different ones!
Maybe it’s wrong to laugh at my own jokes, but I giggled as I typed out Sydney’s attempts to make his wife swoon. Oddly enough, Gary looks concerned when I laugh and type simultaneously. Perhaps I should stop telling him he’s my inspiration?
I’m giggling already at the bit I can read. Great shame I shall not be able to find out how it ends. I shall allow my imagination to fill in the blanks.
Thanks, Beatrice.
It didn’t seem right to show the whole thing whilst the magizine is for sale.

Magazine even! (Wish keyboards would process the words I’m thinking, not the letters I press)
Congrats Patsy!
Thanks, Jack.
