This is our writing group’s trophy for the annual short story competition. It’s silver, was first presented in 1983 and this year for the first time, I’ve won it!

Obviously I’m pleased and not just because it’s shiny and pretty (although that’s reason enough). Some great writers have their names engraved on it, including June Hampson who was my tutor when I first decided to have a go at creative writing.
