A new project
I’m starting to put together a new collection of plant and garden related short stories, to continue the series
Free read.
Just
a reminder that my short story collection, Not A drop to Drink is FREE to download.
I’d love you to read it – and a review would be very welcome, particularly if you enjoy the stories!
Swimming
I don’t usually write poetry, but when someone as talented as Aoife Mannix encourages you to have a try, it’s rude not to.

Update on That’s Life
Thanks t
o the lovely Glynis Scrivens, I’ve now seen the illustrations used for my story ‘A Close Shave’
Famous Names.

My short story Famous Names is now available to download from the Alfie Dog Fiction website, priced 39p.
I like all my characters, even the bad guys, while I’m writing them (maybe especially the bad guys!) but I don’t often return to them. An exception might have to be made for Edna Montgomery though. As her son says, Edna understands the same things most other people do. She just understands in a different way. I’m sure I can find space in a novel for someone like that.
Trophy triumph.
This is our writin
g group’s trophy for the annual short story competition. It’s silver, was first presented in 1983 and this year for the first time, I’ve won it!
Obviously I’m pleased and not just because it’s shiny and pretty (although that’s reason enough). Some great writers have their names engraved on it, including June Hampson who was my tutor when I first decided to have a go at creative writing.
Welcome!
Thanks for visting my new website. I’ll be gradually populating it over the next few weeks. Yay! Another form of procrastination from the writing!
